Nashoba United

Regional Town Soccer Organization

This soccer program serves the youth of the Nashoba Regional School District!  Nashoba United will be operating as a unified program serving the 3 towns that feed the NRSD High School.  Players may participate from the towns in specific age/gender bands according to the following:

·         Lancaster - Boys and Girls U10 and above

·         Stow - Girls and Boys U12 and above

·         Bolton - Boys and Girls U16+

The Nashoba United program is a town travel program typically with multiple teams at each age group. Our teams are registered within the Nashoba Valley Youth Soccer League in varying competitive divisions, making our program less focused on competition, and more focused on player fun, development, and when desired, the highest competitive level available to him/her.

As a regional organization serving multiple towns, Nashoba United, players, parents, coaches, and volunteers will remain the same. We’ll just be a larger family of individuals here to enjoy the sport of soccer across a larger organization that has more resources to improve the experience of those who participate, regardless of your involvement.

We do not have "tryouts" in this program since we are not limited to MTOC – its open to everyone.  Our goal is to place every player that wishes to play onto a team of like plagyers and skills. Our Nashoba United Evaluations held during the summer are important for all players to attend, since it will allow us to best evaluate where our players belong, both socially and competitively.  For more detailed information on our placement process, please click here.  Our ultimate goal is to make sure our members enjoy their experience in this sport well beyond their youth playing years.  Through participation in our program, we want our youth to develop a true love of the beautiful game – returning to volunteer as coaches, referees, and as program administrators.

Welcome to the program

- Nashoba United Board of Directors

Parents of Nashoba United (NU) and Stow Soccer Club (SCC):
As you may be aware, the Massachusetts Department of Public health (DPH) has raised the risk level for Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) in Stow to HIGH. (It  is currently Moderate in Lancaster).
The current threat is not permanent: EEE risk will decrease when the first frosts begin killing off mosquito populations. But until that time, the NU / SSC Boards recommend proactive and aggressive deterrence to stay safe while we enjoy youth soccer this Fall.
The Town of Stow sprayed its Athletics fields on Sept 5th (see here: https://www.stow-ma.gov/recreation-department/pages/recreation)
Also, in accordance with DPH suggested safety guidelines, the NU and SSC Board are advising the following policy:
- All Coaches, Parents, Referees, and Players participating or spectating Soccer (or other) activity outside should carry and apply insect repellent in accordance with the DPH recommended guidelines:
"Use a repellent with DEET (N, N-diethyl-m-toluamide), permethrin, picaridin (KBR 3023), IR 3535 or oil of lemon eucalyptus [p-methane 3, 8-diol (PMD)] according to the instructions on the product label. DEET products should not be used on infants under two months of age and should be in concentrations of 30% or less on older children. Oil of lemon eucalyptus should not be used on children under three years of age. Permethrin products are intended for use on items such as clothing, shoes, and should not be applied to skin."
- All Evening Soccer activities should conclude by 7:15 p.m. through the week of Sept. 8-14 and 15 minutes earlier each successive week until the first hard frost according to this DPH Table:
Please see Stow Board of Health Statement here http://www.stow-ma.gov/node/102724 for more information. The  DPH risk map can be viewed at http://www.mosquitoresults.com and the risk levels here: https://www.stow-ma.gov/sites/stowma/files/news/dph_mosquito_risk_level_description.pdf
